On October 29, 2009 a seminar on the control of mergers was held in Warsaw to inaugurate the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. It was a meeting under the auspices of the Central European Competition Initiative (CECI) which groups together six countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Hungary and Austria. During the seminar, Jarosław Sroczyński delivered a presentation entitled “Merger Review in an Economic Downturn: EU Experience” and he participated in a panel discussion.
