On September 12-14, 2022 in Krakow, the XXII Krakow Conference organized by the FORUM Educational Center took place. Dr. Michal Markiewicz gave a lecture covering two issues: copyright vs. trademark and the liability of a hosting platform on the example of the “Chomikuj” ruling. – Supreme Court judgment of August 26, 2022 (II CSKP 3/22). On the other hand, Prof. Ryszard Markiewicz laid out the matter including: the complaint of Poland in the case for the annulment of Article 17 of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2019/790 on copyright in the digital single market, new problems and settlements in the field of copyright protection of a work and its scope, as well as the principle of proportionality in copyright law.
