Joint project with Wolters Kluwer Polska – “5 minutes about IP” on law.pl. Prof. Markiewicz: Pastiche, or what, how much and when is allowed under this permitted use?

Markiewicz & Sroczynski together with Wolters Kluwer Polska invite you to visit a new space dedicated to intellectual property – “5 minutes about IP”. “5 minutes about IP” will focus entirely on issues related to: copyright, industrial property and combating unfair competition. The “5 minutes about IPR” texts will appear at least twice a month. The premise here is to take you 5 minutes to pay attention to something we are passionate about and you will be interested in. The articles will therefore be short, clear and, if possible, also “illustrated”. We would like “5 Minutes on IPR” to become a source of knowledge about important changes and rulings, an inspiration for discussion, and a source of new, including controversial, interpretive ideas. Above all, however, we hope that it will be simply interesting. The first text by Richard Markiewicz deals with the issue of defining the limits of permitted pastiche – can new interpretations of this permitted use set a new framework for creativity, including appropriation creativity? We invite you to read the text and join the discussion.
