On March 19, 2013 Jarosław Sroczyński participated in a conference entitled “Charging slot allowances in Poland. The need to change or to interpret the law?”. Mr. Sroczyński was a speaker in a discussion panel devoted to the economic issues of prohibition of slot allowances (so-called “shelf fees”) pursuant to the Unfair Competition Law. In his presentation, Mr. Sroczyński concentrated on “retroactive rebates” and their qualification as slot allowances, questioning the “creeping” approach of the jurisprudence, which tends to subject more and more usual business relations to the above prohibition. The conference, organized by the Center for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies of the Management Department of the Warsaw University (CARS), grouped numerous legal theoreticians and practitioners as well as representatives of sellers and suppliers interested in the legal matters of slot allowances.
