The commentary on the case of the Tunisian RM FM radio jingle by Marcin Mioduszewski, a lawyer, deserves special attention of those interested in legal protection of sound forms emitted in radio broadcasts. “Even such short musical forms as a jingle can be protected. Although not all of them are always creative enough to constitute a work within the meaning of the copyright law, there are still related rights which protect a recording (phonogram) and musical and vocal performances. We ended May with a lecture “Law in the fashion industry” conducted for the “IP STUDENT” project – Scientific Circle of Intellectual Property Law TBSP UJ by Attorney Zuzanna Ochońska. It is always a great pleasure to be able to share our knowledge with a student audience interested in the topic of regulation in the fashion industry.

On 20-21 May 2021, the General Scientific Conference “Open access management of scientific and didactic resources – standards, tools, good practices” was held, organised by the Jagiellonian Library within the framework of the project “Open access repository of scientific and didactic output” of the Jagiellonian University. Sybilla Stanisławska-Kloc, PhD, co-participated in a panel on digital educational use of works in the face of new teaching realities (cross-border activities) and Michał Wyrwiński, PhD, participated in a panel on open access in grant funded research projects.

Once again, we had the opportunity to conduct training for attorneys at law from the Katowice Bar. Last year, Mr. Sroczynski spoke about competition law, and on 11 May 2021, Dr. Michał Markiewicz presented the boundaries between plagiarism and inspiration in copyright law. We would like to thank Dean Zbigniew Głodny for the invitation, our Colleague Tomasz Ogłódek for organisational assistance, and all our Colleagues from the Katowice Bar, which is not only geographically close to us, for their participation and activity.
