On November 4, 2010, during New Media Salon at the 14th Book Fair in Cracow, our lawyers – Mr. Piotr Suski and Mr. Marcin Mioduszewski – presented a lecture entitled “Around Electronic Book – Legal Issues”, in which they outlined the legal character of e-books as well as the legal aspects of their marketing and selling.

On September 28, 2010, a workshop entitled „Class Actions: New Instrument of Claim Enforcement by Clients” was organized in Warsaw by Business Media Solutions. Representatives of legal and commercial department of undertakings from various branches of business participated in the workshop, during which Jarosław Sroczyński gave a lecture entitled „Class Actions: New Weapon in the Law Protecting Competition and Consumers?”.

On September 8, 2010, a workshop “Distribution Agreements” was held in Warsaw, devoted to competition law issues. The workshop, organized by Business Media Solutions, grouped representatives of various businesses. Jarosław Sroczyński presented a lecture entitled “Development of Online Distribution: New Opportunities Stemming from the EU Regulation on Vertical Restraints”.

On August 24, 2010 Jarosław Sroczyński delivered a presentation for the 42nd Academy of Computer Law seminar, devoted to legal issues of traditional and internet publishing. The subject of the presentation was “The activities of publishers in the field of internet sales: new antimonopoly regime introduced by Commission Regulation No. 330/2010 on vertical agreements”. The seminar, organised in Warsaw by the Centre for the Promotion of Computer Science, was attended by representatives of publishing companies, ministries, universities, etc.

An article by I. Walencik entitled “Boutiques become fashionable among lawyers” was published in “Rzeczpospolita” of April 28, 2010. On April 22, 2010, Jarosław Sroczyński presented a lecture “Class Actions: overview of the legal nature and practical application of this institution in other countries”, at a Conference entitled “Class actions – a new step towards enforcement of the protection of consumers”. The Conference was devoted to various legal issues of class actions, introduced in the Polish court law by the Law of December 17, 2009 on the Enforcement of Claims in Group Proceedings, which will enter into force on July 19, 2010. The Conference was organized in Warsaw by Wolters Kluwer Poland, under the honorary patronage of the Polish Bar Association.

On April 14, 2010, a workshop “Distribution Agreements” was held in Warsaw, devoted to competition law issues. The workshop, organized by Business Media Solutions, grouped representatives of legal and trade departments of various businesses. Jarosław Sroczyński presented a lecture entitled “Dealing with Everyone? The choice of partner and resale freedom in distribution agreements”.
